Worries on Studies

     All the time you are playing, you don't study at all. You never open a book while at home. You just want a mobile or computer. You have nothing to do with books. Your assignments and homework are due. This time I don't want to see a B grade on your results. You are the least attentive child. You don't realize how valuable your grades are. I am anxious about your future.....so on... The most uttered sentences by a mother. The continual series of grievances goes on. Parents seek an antidote to these troubles.

Why our children not study:

Due to the diversity and versatility offered by technology our children have been exposed to change. With a tap of a finger, they shift undesirable to desirable, boring to interesting, tedious to exhilarating. The longing for swift change is incorporated in his disposition. When we assert them to study and open books it seems to them a boring task. Moreover, an assertive way of command makes them more rigid. The most significant needed to make studies engaging and interesting.  

How to invite them for studies:

Most children need a thrust to work. They don't understand the importance of work and assignments. So explaining the importance of studies by giving illustrations is the best way. Set an ideal for them which they like the most in the family as in Father. You may refer to your experience of how long your father used to study. How much harsh a life he spent. How much their parents hard-working for them. Make them realize that it hurt when they don't study.

How to make them stop playing:

Usually, parents abruptly dictate their children stop playing and open their books. It is an awful and sudden way of diverting your kids to studies. firstly, he won't accept this deflection as he is absorbed in his favorite pursuit. Secondly, his mind will be tangled in that played which he quit a while ago. Rather ask him the longer you play the longer you study.

How to make them memorize:

The best learning is through the senses. Before reading ask some random questions about the topic that how they feel and think about the topic. As we know one paragraph represents one thought. Question to them to check comprehension.

Let them be your teacher:

Kids relish while performing the role of teacher. invite them to guide you and teach you the lesson. Focus on the weak areas and make them answer your question over and over. The topic will be imbued in their brain.

How long one should study?

Time doesn't count. The difference that matters is the quality of the study, not quantity.  The ratio should be 20%/ reading 80% revision. The more children revise the more perfect they will be. Besides,  learning capacity and interest in any subject will determine their study hours.

Create curiosity:

Curiosity is the principle of learning. Asking questions makes them brainstorm. Set up some interesting queries for their exploration. The ecological relationship between individual and experience can be ascertained in this way. Their wisdom and knowledge will flourish once their curiousness is answered. 

Use encouraging sentences:

Tiny human beings are very sensitive about their self-esteem. They never like to be offended by your pungent remarks. Be a facilitator to them. Guide them on how to overcome their deficiencies with solutions. Appreciate their effort. Reward them for each improvement. Rewarding them with beautiful phrases names and sentences is a miracle to them. You can also reward your child by taking them out and buying them their favorite items as a token of appreciation.
